Ten Good Reasons to Check Us Out

1. Biblical Faithfulness! We are committed to teaching the Bible as God's holy, inspired
and completely reliable word. We do not believe the Bible is the invention of men.
And out of this commitment, we make it our aim to teach and explain the scriptures
faithfully and accurately according the the original intention of the Author.
2. Warm-hearted Fellowship! Faith Church has, over the years, been characterized by its
warmth and honesty. One member has remarked, "There is a lot of grace in this
church." By that, he meant to say that the quality of mercy and of making room for
everyday folks with issues and needs is a standard in this fellowship.  We know
that this is true. We aren't perfect people and while we all seek to live according
to the teachings of God's Word, we love mercy more than sacrifice and repent-
ance and restoration over judgement.
Why don't you come and see for yourself if this is true or if we're just making it up.
3. Passionate Worship!  as much as Presbyterians can handle, that is. I'd love to say we have an excellent praise & worship team that consistently leads us in classic  Hymns and biblically-grounded, contemporary worship, but I'd be breaking a whole bunch of commandments if I did.   The spirit is willing but the truth is that we are rather eclectic. We have a great key boardist/organist/vocalist who greatly helps us. Every other month, another talented brother provides some great opening  worship songs and leadership, followed up by our great key board/organist.  We occasionally have a harpist, a trombonist, a violin player who joins in, etc.
In a word, we have openings and needs. You might consider applying your gifts for leading worship to our situation.    Having said that, worship isn't all about the music; it's a matter of the heart. And I can assure you that our folks are fully focused on giving worship to our Great God and Father and His Son, our Savior Jesus Christ!

Life-changing Ministries! Our vision is to Live the Life that is found in Christ, to Learn more about how to Live that Life in all its practical dimension, and to Share that Life with others by introducing people to the only One who can give the Life.

We believe that Christ came to establish his Kingdom in every area  of our lives, 24/7.  We are committed to seeing Christ transform our characters and conduct to be like Himself.  This transformation should positively change our work ethic, our standard of honesty and integrity in all our relationships, in singleness, in marriage, in family, and in our dealings with the community. We mean to be disciples of Christ and    make a positive difference in our world. We wait for the Day when Christ makes all things new, but we work to reveal His loving rule in the present time.

5.  We Know How to Laugh ... at ourselves and even at you!  While we have serious goals and are earnest about serving the Lord, it is not lost on us that God has an obvious sense of humor in choosing to use us to get the job done.   We also know how to shed tears with those who weep or are hurting.
6. We Have Great Faith! ... Over the years, the Lord has continually led us in ways that have forced us to accomplish things that would have been impossible if He had not been in it.  We take seriously what it means to seek God's face, to know His will and to be led by His Spirit.  We are careful to be sure, through our body of  Elders and the prayers of our congregation, that our visions for God's work are  truly from Him.  But once we know that God wants it done, we have given ourselves fully to seeing it done. We have a history of seeing God's hand do amazing things we could never have done by ourselves.  As a result, God gets the glory, because everyone can plainly see it wasn't us. The project of building our current ministry center was a recent example. The launching of the Little Lambs Daycare & Preschool is our most current example.   Who knows what the Lord has in store for the future?
7. We Have Great Leadership! Our elders are godly men, who are deeply committed to Christ and His people. We highly value praying and seeking God's will and then working out what we understand to be God's will for our time and place. We earnestly work to serve God's people under our care. We do not just "rubber stamp" the pastor's vision, but truly work together to be of one mind and accord. We do not settle matters by majority vote. Voting in both the Council and the Congregation is simply a tool we use to see whether we have unity if decision or division (and, thus, need more seeking God in prayer!).

Our Deacons (both men and women) diligently serve to lead our congregation in showing the compassion of Christ both to the family of God and to the community. They collect and distribute material and spiritual support to people touched by disaster, bereavement, or even the results of their own poor choices.

8.

We are committed to be an evangelizing church. We take seriously Christ's command to share the gospel of His kingdom and salvation to all nations. Therefore we take every opportunity to equip ourselves and involve ourselves in the privilege of sharing the message of Christ with our island. Through personal witness, Prison Fellowship, day care, WTL Youth ministry, the ministry of our small groups in households and many other ways, we do what the love of God compels us to do.
9. We are a rainbow congregation. Our membership embraces folks from just about every group of people you can find on Guam and in the surrounding islands and asian region. By God's grace, this is true of many congregations on Guam. But it is also true of us and we really like it a lot, that brothers and sisters from so many different places can truly be one in Christ and care for each other. We have former convicts, white collar professionals, middle class, low class, no class, teachers (lots of class!), ... all sorts of people. And, when we look in the mirror, (horrors!) we even have a few hypocrites (forgiven, of course and also known as saints). So, you'll probably find a place and folks who will like you, here, too.
10.

We're not stuck up. We don't think every ministry on the island has to be something we started in order for us to celebrate it and support it. We believe, as it is confessed in the Apostles' Creed, "in one holy catholic church." That is we recognize there are true believers in every Christ-centered and biblically-grounded church. We will, as God leads, work together with God-honoring folks in just about every denomination (sorry, we draw the line at outright cults). We partner with the Salvation Army in relief work on the island. We do evangelism and discipleship ministries in the prison with many other churches under the auspices of Prison Fellowship Guam. We are joyfully committed to advancing biblical studies and leadership training through the Pacific Islands Bible College, which is an interdenominational and solidly evangelical institution with full accreditation and a fine staff of teachers on both the Chuuk and Guam campuses. We support missionaries serving in Campus Crusade, Trans World Radio, and Christian Reformed World Missions. We take seriously God's command to "strive to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bonds of peace."
